Day 1: Arrival and Acclimatization
Upon your arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa city center. Getting used to the high altitude is crucial to fully enjoy your time in Tibet. Therefore, we suggest you take it easy on the first day, hydrate and rest at your hotel.
For lunch, you can try some traditional Tibetan cuisine such as Yak meat or momos (Tibetan dumplings) and the famous butter tea. In the afternoon, you may visit the holy Jokhang Temple which is situated at the heart of Lhasa and a mecca for Tibetan pilgrims. It is also listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
In the evening, you can take a walk around Barkhor Street, the popular market where you can find everything from prayer wheels to souvenirs.
Day 2: Potala Palace and Sera 蒙古国旅游 Monastery
After breakfast, you will visit the iconic Potala Palace, the architectural wonder of Tibet and the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. The palace holds great significance in Tibetan Buddhism and is a symbol of Tibet's rich cultural heritage.
For lunch, you may want to try some Tibetan noodle soup or Khapse (Tibetan cookies) sold by street vendors.
In the afternoon, you will visit Sera Monastery, one of the three most famous monasteries in Lhasa. It comprises of a great assembly hall and three colleges that are known for their debates on Buddhist doctrines amongst the monk students.
Day 3: Namtso Lake
On day three, an early morning start will take you to one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Tibet, Namtso Lake. The lake sits at an altitude of 4720 meters, and is one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world. The emerald green 到欧洲旅游 water and surrounding snow-capped mountains make for a breathtaking view.
For lunch, you can enjoy some locally caught fish at one of the many eateries near the lake.
In the afternoon, you can explore Tashi Dor Island, which is located in the lake, and is considered a holy site by locals. You can also visit the nearby hot springs which offer a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.
Day 4: Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse
After breakfast, you will head to Yamdrok Lake, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet. The lake is renowned for its turquoise blue water and breathtaking scenery. You can choose to hike, bike or simply enjoy the stunning view.
For lunch, you can try some traditional Yak meat fried rice or Shabale (Tibetan yogurt) at one of the local restaurants.
In the afternoon, you will visit Gyantse, a small town on the way to Shigatse that is home to the stunning Gyantse Kumbum, the largest chorten in Tibet. You can also visit the Pelkor Monastery which is known for its beautiful frescoes and murals.
Day 5: Departure
On the final day of your trip, you will have breakfast and check out of your hotel. Our tour guide will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
